Who we are
Clip Cards is a digital business card service at clipcards.app, made up of the Clip Cards iOS app, its App Clip and this website. Questions about this policy: hello@clipcards.app.
If you have a card
- Account. You sign in with Apple. We store the anonymous identifier Apple gives us for our app. If you choose to share your name or email with Apple's sign-in, we do not store them unless you put them on your card.
- Your card. Everything you add to a card (name, role, company, photo, phone numbers, emails, links, bio, topics) is stored on our servers and is public to anyone who opens the card's link, taps your card or scans its code. Put on it only what you want to share.
- Scan counts. When someone opens your card we record that it was opened, with a random identifier for their device and the time, so the app can show how many times your card was viewed.
If you read someone's card
You need no account. Opening a card in the Clip Cards app or App Clip records a random device identifier and the time, as described above; opening it in a browser records nothing beyond the server logs below. The app and App Clip keep a history of cards you opened on your device only. Saving a contact happens on your phone through the system contacts screen; we never read your address book.
What we do not do
No advertising, no third-party trackers or analytics, and we do not sell or share personal data.
Where data lives
The service runs on Google Cloud in the European Union (Belgium); the database is hosted by Neon in the EU (Frankfurt). Data travels over encrypted connections. Like any website, our hosting keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page requested) for up to 30 days to run and secure the service.
Deleting your data
Delete a card from the app at any time; its link stops working. Settings → Delete Account removes your account, every card, their photos and scan counts permanently. You can also email hello@clipcards.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above.
